1. General information
This subject is designed for the student to acquire communicative competence in the French language that will allow their to develop comprehension and production of diverse texts and documents. To this end, it responds to the following objectives: To develop students' ability to express themselves in French.
Acquire the necessary vocabulary to be able to articulate a speech in French.
To know how oral grammar works in order to use it in communication.
Know French spelling in order to be able to transcribe oral texts.
Acquire the correct pronunciation from the written form of a new word.
All the approaches and goals of this subject respond to goal 5: Gender Equality, one of the primary Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so the learning results of this subject provide training and competence to contribute to this achievement.
2. Learning results
. Understands oral messages and written texts.
. Orally presents a given topic.
. Adapts their speech to the communication situation.
. Write a text, writing it by him/herself or by dictation, respecting the spelling and grammar of the French language.
. Use the language autonomously and correctly using the appropriate grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.
3. Syllabus
- Characteristics of oral discourse in French.
- Characteristics of the text written in French.
- Different language registers and their particularities.
- The phonological system of French and its relation to writing.
- Comparison of French and Spanish phonological systems.
- Aspects of the French lexicon.
- Factors of coherence and cohesion in oral and written French.
- Communication in class.
- Le binarisme sexe-genre.
4. Academic activities
The subject is designed around authentic documents, which serve as a support for communication.
In the classes, the activities are focused so that the student can approach as many texts and documents as possible that will allow their to use the French language in interaction.
The communicative competences integrated in the documents and texts of the program will be worked on.
5. Assessment system
First call
Continuous assessment
The student must demonstrate in written tests throughout the course that he/she has acquired the linguistic components addressed in the texts and documents of the program. (50%)
There will be an oral test in which the student will demonstrate his/her ability to express him/herself in French (30%)
Throughout the subject, oral comprehension tests will be assessed. (20% of the grade)
Global assessment.
It will take place on the date indicated in the academic calendar and will consist of a written test on the content developed throughout the subject (50%) and an oral test in French (50%).
Second call
The student must take a global test consisting of two evaluation activities:
Written test on the contents of the course. Weighting: 50% of the grade.
Oral test of comprehension and expression in French. Weighting: 50% of the grade.
In order to pass the subject, a minimum score of 5 must be obtained in each of the two parts.
Fifth and sixth calls
The fifth and sixth call will be evaluated with the same activities and with the same requirements that appear in the section on the second call.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Norms of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will be applicable to the irregularities committed in the evaluation tests by means of academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Norms of Evaluation of Learning in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
